I am a Professor of American Studies and Chair of the Dept. of Interdisicplinary Studies at Salem State University. My teaching and scholarship focus on publically-engaged projects that link to issues of race, ethnicity, immigration, gender and social justice. Fundamentally, I explore/interrogate and try to build community in my scholarship and teaching. I am well-skilled in a number of engaged pedagogies (most notably service-learning) but have been wanting to explore the ways in which digital humanities can serve these same ends in the classroom.
