As I said, I have a PhD in computer science. I started life as CS faculty member but left that field after 10 years because of the strict focus on technology without a concern about the humanity of our students. I have been in a communication and media studies department for nearly 10 years now and feel much more at home. I teach digital media classes (game studies in particular) but I also teach introductory media studies courses which are focused on developing technology skills as well as understanding the impact of technology on all media. I also teach a television studies course. In that course, I'm really interested in how students share their learning with the world.
