I am an assistant professor of history at Southern Connecticut State University where I teach courses in 19th Century America, the history of science and technology, military and maritime history. I have published work in Environmental History, the Journal of Military History, the International Journal of Maritime History, and The New England Quarterly. My book, which is a history of American naval science and oceanic empire in the nineteenth century will be published by UNC Press in 2018.
